Good Thursday Morning all Ya'll!
You know what is so good about Thursdays? They are connected to FRIDAYS!
Anyway, I am still sitting at the delivery place from lastnight. This turned out to not be such a good deal. LOL In fact, it made me ponder about writing another "information article" about trucking....Anatomy of a Delivery .
It gives insight to what happens when I make a delivery, or should I say, "dosen't happen".
Remember, I wrote it in the middle of the night, so feel free to point out anything that does not quite make sense. LOL No telling what it looks like from a fresh set of eyes.
The map is now updated for the KY trip.

Hey, WAKE UP!!!! I'm still with you! LOL But then I'm a night owl. Thay's why I miss your start in the mornings. My hubby worked graveyard forever, so my hours have always been off. His coworkers wife and I would be up at 2AM, on the phone with each other, washing clothes, ironing, doing dishes, keeping each other company and calming each others fears.
Hope TK can handle this. I'll be with you till you get parked for the night, unless this outfit is totally out of control!
LOL, howdy Tacomagram!
well, they have not yet even gotten a forlift in the trailer yet. So no telling. LOL
But, I wrote an article for ya'll and now I have to pay the lumpers.....so maybe they will start:)
Then I am gonna get a short nap until they get done. Maybe if i try to nap, they will get done. As long as I stay awake, they wont do a darn thing. LOL
LOL Good luck Steve!
hey im up with ya'll i just got off work and couldnt wait to see where you were heading.. connie-mississippi
Hi Connie, welcome to the nightowl gang. Hope you can relax now that you are home. Take your shoes off, put your feet up and watch Steve and TK have an exciting evening.....NOT!!! LOL
Oh I am so ready for this next trip. Most of my relatives live in Oklahoma. Haven't been there since I was a bride.
You were talking about Selma the other day. My sis and me, being raised by good parents, ran into discrimination towards others. We would have no part of it. We made the clerk in the store very unhappy when we pointed out the other lady was there before us. I guess, "whites," get served first. Not that time! Hated the seperated soda fountain at the drug store. We were so tempted to sit in the "blacks" section. I think our parents did a good job with us. We all are getting closer, one step at a time. Keep walking, all.
Anatomy of a Delivery - I'm surprised time study efficiency experts haven't made inroads in these places. Their time saving recommendations cost jobs, but they do work.
Hey Steve,
Safe trip bud, I'll be along for the ride!
Cheers

Steve, just a question. Out of St. Louis, wouldn't it be better to take I-64 to Lexington? Or does your dispatcher dictate your route?
the skunk cartoon was funny. hope that never happens in real life. Phew! So you are still in Phoenix. We were in downtown Phoenix on Monday. Right where the light rail runs. If you ever get time when you are here in the area, Boyce Thompson arberetum is a good place to film. I don't think they have retstrictions. Lot of plant life, interesting old cabin and truck. An Australian setting for the truck thing. Plants from all over.
I will think about you. God Bless and keep you safe

I don't understand this unloading by people you have to pay. Do they get paid by the warehouse too? Or do a bunch of people show up and hope to unload a truck? I don't get it. And if they ask a crazy price to unload you, are there another bunch of guys you can haggle with to get unloaded cheaper? Do you actually have to dip in your own money? That just doesn't make sense. It sounds like a great place to make money. I wonder if there are any warehouses around Hammond, Indiana that are like that. It's a union thing or not?
