Afternoon Road Crew! I trust you are having a good day today with BBQ, family gatherings, etc!
We are going to take a quick walk-around break, maybe see if any food jumps in my belly. :)
Remember just the other day we were rolling through 107 degrees in Western Arizona? Right now in Laramie, Wyoming, it is only 57 degrees and cloudy!
We will stop for the night in Big Springs, Nebraska....I am hoping forsome fireworks there tonight. If so, we might do a live broadcast!
BTW, just got our next trip a few minutes ago, and it will keep us rolling all of next week! :)

Evening BRS, TK, and Road Crew!
I was just thinking about remembering our fallen service people that defended our country with their very lives. But I remember today the over 1.4 million military personnel that are sitting on ready to defend our freedom or one of the over 200,000 military personnel that are overseas now helping others in foreign lands.
When I think of patriotism, I don't think of bumper stickers or slogan t-shirts. I think of what are each of us doing to support our military people and the everyday sacrifices they make to keep this country free.
Many of our military cannot afford to call home. The VFW has a wonderful program providing free phone cards to our wounded military and to those serving our country. Make a donation today if you have the means to their Operation Uplink.
If you live near a military base or near a national guard armory, what opportunities are there to help military families left behind? Those families are making a sacrifice too!
Sometimes it is a simple treasure just to hear your name called at mail call. There are many organizations that support getting mail to active military. Find one and send a printed or online card.
There are also many organizations including local churches that support sending care packages to our military personnel.
Though it's a bit early, there is also Holiday Mail for Heros supported by the Red Cross and Pitney Boles. At the truckstop late November and early December, we offer free Christmas cards to our patrons to send to military personnel through this program. Last year, that program sent over a million Christmas cards to our military personnel.
Patriotism is not only thanking and appreciating our military but is helping others in our own community. Many local churches and community organizations have projects that only require your hands to help. But come to think of it, that's a form of appreciating our military and what they do to keep us free: helping each other so that our country can become the best she was meant to be.
And finally to our Road Crew members that have loved ones on active duty ... thank you!
Beautifully written and well said, UA! Thanks!
Touching UA.
BRS have you seen any corn today?
OH, 45 minutes to fireworks. You're in central time zone.
Fireworks are illegal in GA, but they are going off all over the neighborhood! Sure am glad I don't still haver a dog...used to terrify them!
