OKAY! We made it and are being unloaded right now. I made it with 2 minutes to spare. LOL This is a hole in the wall place. Did you see the garbage I had to back around? LOL Oh well, as long as I move one inch at a time and don't hit anything, it is all good.

I know some truckers that live by the "Backup Rule" which says: "Back up until it sounds expensive, then back up 3 feet more!". LOL

By the time I get done here, I will have used all my available driving hours for today. Looks like it might be half a day for me...if you can count starting at 3am and getting done by noon half a day.

Ya know, I just realized it is Thursday! Wasn't it Monday just a few hours ago????

Have a look to see if there is any signs that Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid were near. LOL

My husband is a retired trucker, and we enjoy your site very much.
Especially today, as we have sons in Plano, Gun Barrel City, and Wills Point, Texas. Wish we were there.
We live in Rupert Idaho, with 2 old dogs, 2 horses, and a bunch of cats, 3 of them Siamese mix that live in the house. Yes we are cat lovers too. Have a great day.

I have a two-part question for you Steve...

What happens when you go over your available driving hours when you are at a delivery detination, are you allowed to drive to a truckstop from there? A second part to that question, what happens if you are out of available driving hours and you have an appointed delivery time within say another hour, do you continue on to your destination or stop and risk delivering your load a day late?

Steve,

Could you please explain the driving hours formula(s) - for the day, the week, whatever it happens to be.

Anything I've seen about it seems a bit complicated.

Also, how easy is it for a driver to "fudge" his log? A lot of the "logging" seems to be on the honor system.

Steve, it does look like a hole-in-the-wall kind of place! But that beautiful blue sky helps a lot. We've had a lot of cloudy skies here in Iowa lately.
