Ok, well figure since the shipper is a drop and hook place, and parking is already getting tight here in Dallas, we will call it a night. All we have to do is wake up early and swoop in to shipper, change trailers, then head out full steam towards Georgia!
Got sinus headache, we have the trailer fueled and all washed out, so it will be a fast and painless morning. :)

Laughing ... thought you were going to park in Arkansas.
this is one of those screwed up truckstop cities. Hard parking, very few truckstops, etc. Figuire I bnetter get a spot while the getting is good. LOL
We willbe able to just go in and swap trailers in the morning, so no biggie.
Glad you got a spot. This isn't one of those pay places is it?
I was asked if I been through all 48 lower states.....
well, I have been to all of them. But only been to Maine, VT, NH once.
nope. this one is free. lol
Love that big Texas Sky. Still snowing and blowing here. A 4 ft. drift at my back door...can't get out it....but have no desire to be out in this.
Glad you are where the weather is decent.
I look forward to this trip and seeing a part of the US I haven't seen before.
Rest well and take care of TK...)
we will, thank ya:)
Oh my TXmom...keep the white stuff out there. BRS will be coming thru the deep South after the bad storms hit tomorrow. So he should have clear sailing.
Think you parked in the north 40 where there aren't any lights.
TK been licking keyboard? Grin
Sorry you have a headache but, it's good you are at rest now. I don't see any light poles around, so may be in the dark tonight. We'll see. Got trailer fueled??
I thought only the tractor used fuel. Maybe refrigerated trailer? Then guess it would need fuel of some kind. Hummm...another trucking subject I've never thought about. Could you explain?
sure. I drag a reefer trailer behind me. It has its own 50 gallon fuel tank to keep the reefer going even if it sits in a yard somewhere loaded.
When we drop and hook any trailer, they won;t let us change unless they are full of fuel. (so they can load it, let it sit until driver gets there and not have to worry about fuel running out)
yes, there are lights back here. Just they are out of view for once. lol.
Now that's interesting. Had never even thought about that. Learn something new everyday.
What kind of fuel goes into the reefer, Steve?
truck kat slobber
Diesel fuel, same as tractor
what ya think I drag along a cat for???
ok, gonna get some food, will be back shortly.
You are so funny, Steve! Kats don't slobber...unless they are in your face in the AM! My cat used to walk on me first and if that didn't work, she would put all those whiskers in my face! One morning, she couldn't seem to get through to me, so she put her foot in my ear! After she peeled herself off the wall, she sulked for two days....never bothered my ears again!
Boy Dottie ... you had me laughing so hard. Has your cat tried to stick her paw in your ear again?
lol Dottie
My cat was sleeping so nice and purring this morning, under the covers, on my arm. Then she proceded to stretch her paws with extended claws, up to my face. @ more times of that, then she did it without the claws. Still not good when trying to sleep. I put my hand over her legs, hoping to put a stop to that. No, did not work. I turned over so she left. I closed the door so I could finish my beauty sleep! Need it at my age.....heck I've always needed it!
Y'all are too funny tonight!
Nope ualady, she never bothered my ears again
Steve, do you ever spend the night at an interstate rest area?
Smart cat Dottie!
Taco, Did you see my congrats in an earlier blog? I have two-year old twin grands and I understand your excitement!
Steve, my only question for today: what 5 states would you rate as having best maintained highways, and which 5 states the worst? I have my guesses, but will wait to hear from an expert! ML Dallas
Yes I did Dottie...going to call daughter on the hr...can hardly wait to chat with her!
Guess I'll be in Austin for much of November. Hubby won't go, so of course he is worried how he will eat. Poor baby!!! NOT!!!
Thanks, Steve for reply on fuel for trailers. Never thought about the trailer you dropped would have to be kept cold even without the tractor!
You are so kind to answer our questions. Hope your headache is better after eating.
Taco
I know exactly what you mean! Hubby wants to stay home and does not miss us, just misses his cook!
Insulting! But we love em anyway!
well, not really sure on the best/worst highway states. LOL
I know Utah used to be the worst as well as OKlahoma. Utah lasyt year really improved theirs last year.
I like calif highways north of LA....but they are very bad everywhere south of LA. Really a hard question there bud
So what's going on tonight? Have I missed anything?
mohogan - do I ever spend the night in rest areas? sure, perfer the truckstops,...but sometimes there is nothing around, so a rest area will have to do. But I am smart enough to choose the ones that have lots of lights, and even security.
dang, glad my english teacher isn't looking. really, I do have a good command of the English language rules....but this laptop, and my headache do not go together very well. lol
Well why don't you just say TK walks on the keyboard!!
Hope the headache gets better Steve.
I am heading toward bed and will catch everyone again in the AM.
Gentle scritches to TK's chin!
whatif i moved the bed?
Or I dont wanna be caught???
Night Dotti! :)
thanks:)
What was dinner tonight?
Your English teacher may not be watching - but I am! And don't think about blaming it on TK!!!!
good evening Steve and TK,
That was short time off.
Hi Road crew gang, just ordered my shirt..
sorry about your head ache steve doesn't make driving very good.
take care and may god bless.
Vicky...I think BRS has gone into lurking mode!
Fair enough ualady! He needs to clear his mind and get plenty of good rest!
Thanks for yer order there Leo! :)
ya know, sometimes life throws strange stuff at ya. LOL
I just got an email from "somebody - a man". He said a few nice things, then told me to meet him online and he said "I love You". LOL
I always get junk emails, sales emails, etc.....so I just thought "what in the world"....
But I got another email about 60 seconds later that said "sorry, that was meant for my wife. I really don't love you, steve". LOL LOL
I just grinned and then cracked up.
No names, just sharing a funny accident. LOL TK does love me though, even if "he" dosen't. LOL LOL
Well you finally appreciated TK's love!!! Maybe there is hope here if we keep working with you BRS!
nope, I am sitting here in full view! LOL Just been updating the "road crew tshirt sales", answer emails, and tell all the "ladies of the night" NO, you can't use my CB. NO you can't use my cell phone. NO you can't warm up in my truck. LOL TK does NOT like them....LOL. Yes, she really does growl at 'em!!
another term for them would be "Lot Lizards"
Good for TK!! Good Guard Truck Cat!! You don't have a no lot lizards sign on your door?
HOORAY FOR TK!!!!!!!!! Bet she'd even attack if anyone tried coming in the door!
Good Job TK!!!! You too Steve.
well, TK sure has a second sense about people. She really does like or not like certain people even if they just pass in front of the truck. LOL
Sure hope the headache goes away as do the lot lizards so you can get some rest since you have an early morning. Good for that marvelous TK...go get 'em kitty.
Got a good laugh out of the email story.
Enjoyed reading the Q and A on the blog today - I learned some interesting things. Thanks for sharing the info.
Make note ... look around driver store for "no lot lizard" decals... for BRS's box.
Magnetic would be handy Ualady!
Justvicky, I notice your favorite music is southern gospel. You know that's the kind we'll sing in heaven! You ever get to the National Quartet Convention?
mohogan ... where are you from?
Oh mohogan, no I've never been to a national convention but I'd die to get to one!
I'll have to look Vicky ... don't know if we have any left...but I will leave no stone unturned!
LOL ualady! That I can sure count on!
Mohogan .. if you are still around ... at our local truck stop ... gospel quartets sing at least 2 saturday nights a month. tomorrow night a bluegrass gospel group is singing.
ualady, I'm here. That's great about the singing. I was born around it and still involved a little. I'm from middle Tennessee
I have to get to your truck stop ualady! Sure sounds impressive!
Oh then you are just 2.5-3 hours north of me. Am just south of Huntsville.
Even have a Sunday special on the buffet ... bring in your church bulletin and get 10% off the buffet price.
I live 75 miles north of Huntsville. Been there several times
Well time for this crew mate to get to bed and rest my brain that's right now in HIGH gear with wheels just a rolling with many things to get done tomorrow! MTBR as the days roll by right ualady?
I'm gone too. Rest well Steve!
I'm 45 miles or less southwest of huntsville. That's where I'm originally from.
Ok what's mtbr vicky?
More To Be Revealed!
you're ok Vicky!
night my friend!
Also known as blog short talk!
Hope I'm ok ualady but have my doubts as the blonde shines more often than I'd like!
GMTA
Translation: Great Minds Think Alike!
Ok, goodnight folks! Sweet dreams and angels on your pillow BRS & TK! Short talk for that is AOYP!
Good Night Road Crew, TK, and BRS! Time to batten down the hatches for bad weather.
Amen ualady!
Yes, they're talking maybe 6 inches of snow for Danville IL tomorrow. Good grief March came in like a lion and going to go out like one!
Stay warm Vicky ... I'll be dodging tornadoes from what I see on the weather report.
