Ok, back from the dentist. I survived.
(Above statement subject to change after numbness wears off)
Dentist TELLS me it was worth it.
But I can tell you right now it is gonna hurt tonight and tomorow!
Oh well, TK is a BIG GIRL. Glad the dentist didn't notice it was HER instead of ME. (I put my ballcap on TK, and shaved off her fur....to go in my place)
Yup, from my ear to my nose, to my neck is numb. Can't feel a thing! Ask me that in a few hours......

Happy to hear that you have survived the dental work - so far. Terri gave you good advice take pain meds before numbness goes away to stay on top of it. It is a good think we knew you were kidding about TK/dentist - there could have been an uprising of your road crew.

From past exp. please take the pain med before the numbness wears off. The dentist always told me it is easier to prevent the pain than to stop it once it starts. Rest easy and get better soon...Shady from Washington
U r right Steve's Mom. I am a retired nurse and he needs to keep that pain level down to a 3 or 4 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the WORST pain u ever had..Because if you let it get passed a 5 or 6 it is hard to bring the pain bk down..

Good! Now that it is over, plan to take it easy and get TK to tie your boots, bending over will make things worse. Plan on getting some rest. Do you have stitches to deal with? I did and they tend to come out easily. Swallowed all but one of mine,but nothing sprouted, so I guess no harm done. LOL!

I agree, my doc told me to take pain meds before the pain comes. Otherwise it is harder to get on top of the pain once you are dealing with it. I'm guessing your dentist probably told you all this, tho.

I hope you decide to stay at your Mom's tonight or if nothing else, get yourself a room in a motel. One with room service and pamper yourself. At least for a day or two.
If you smoke, DON'T and nothing HOT.
Fill TK's food dish and water dispenser and make it so she can watch outside.
(Don't mind me, it's just the Mother in me coming out)

Steve is doing great. He won't let me mother him. He already had hot coffee! So, see, he's doing way better than if we had not prayed for him. Thank you all for praying.
TK won't let him get a decent nights sleep here. If he's in the room with her, she plays all night, running across the bed, swatting toys energetically across the room, banging them on the opposite wall. He has tried it & got no sleep & neither did most of us from the racket. It is even worse if he puts her in her own room--LOUDLY & pitifully crying with her mouth close to the bottom of the door, echoing into the hallway. The only solution is going back to the truck to her home where she knows the routine. TK manages us all pretty well I can tell you.

Please, please don't make the counter go more than what is natural for it!!! Making the numbers rise just for fun would be a MAJOR hurt! I use the numbers to judge what galleries are most popular, the images that arrive on smugmugs website are tied to TRUE interest, my pageviews reports and a whole lot more are all tied to the actual visits! PLUS, the counter is designed so that more than 1 daily visit would STILL BE COUNTED as ONE visit!
I have alot of data at stake and I use it to judge the performance of BigRigTravels.com Please, please do not "play with the numbers just for fun".....

man i feel for you, a trip to the dentist is never good, at least for me, i told the wife i won't go to a dentist or a dr. while im in the upright position and mobile, she assured me that with 3 pickups i can always choose between riding up front to the dr or dentist or tied in the back with the dogs i just cant choose between going or not going lol but ive got out of it so far...

Steve I am generally pretty quiet on here. Being in a different time zone than most I am not generally here at the right times for all the chat. I did want to say tonight however that you were on my mind off and on all day today so I am glad to hear that you are doing okay - you got lot's of good advice from everyone so follow some of it and you should do fine!!
I also have a question for the Trucking Dutchman - where are you from? I grew up in Lancaster County PA so I am a PA Dutchman. I was wondering if you were too.

lol. well, really, I have not been able to sleep very well when in strange place such as hotel or moms house, etc. So, TK and I both feel best in our "house". LOL

It was a temporary case of MKBS coming out in me giving the suggestions I did about what Steve should do.
I know Steve has a Mom and she does a mighty fine job in taking care of his needs... he doesn't need another one. :)
I'll try my very hardest to curtail that instinct in the future. I promise... HONEST! (Just in case I flub up though, I reserve the right to claim temporary "Mother Knows Best Syndrome" again)
