Here are a few answers about the electronic logging....

Yes, I can and would get a citation for violating my federal hours of service rules......if some DOT officer pulls me into a weigh station and sees it. In addition, when I go into a violation, my dispatch manager is notified right away as well as the safety department! So, everybody knows right away, then I would probably get phone calls asking me what I am doing!

Yep, it sure does make it easier because I have no paperwork to do.....BUT I still have to manually change the computer to tell it if I am sleeping, working, etc. It automatically knows when I drive though simply because the wheels turn.

No, I did not pull into a pay for parking place. What that was you saw was the entrance to the scales for folks who want to weigh their truck/trailer.

Straight or automatic?

Thanks for the answer to the question about the computer and paperwork.

So it seems like you truck drivers now sort of parallel airline pilots, who have SO much of their paperwork done by computers and dispatchers. Then other computers pick out their routes and altitudes, departure and arrival times, and in some planes, still more computers do a large part of flying the planes too.

But the speed limiters and trip computers cannot back the rig up to a loading dock .... yet.

Cheers

Fin

oh there's one for a nanny camera...i think we need that to keep an eye out for TK

Hey Steve,
Some things that people don't realize about trucking is that when you need to park, sometimes, you just can't get a good place at all. In some states it is more difficult that others. Sometimes, and I know Steve will back me up, you cannot even get a place to park at a truckstop, picklepark(rest area in normal language), or anywhere. You would not believe how hard it really is to get a parking place in some places in the country. I will just say, nobody really knows how hard it is out there, until they were there.
BRT is really going above and beyond his job. He does this webcam, and everything, and for that in and of itself, should be rewarded.
I'll shut up because some others need to get on here.
everybody be good.

WELL YOU WON'T GET ANY ARGUMENTS OUT OF US ABOUT ALL BRS DOES!!!!! We just want him to adjust his attitude a tad about the Queen in his rig!

Anonymous said...

So that is scales. Thank you so much, Steve. I still haven't seen the real "wave".

Just Vicky said...

Thank pboutwell for saying what we all feel!

BigRigSteve said...

ok, here comes a wave in FIVE MINUTES

Get Ready!

ualady said...

Well I see the Crete driver has corrected the situation. Now he won't be in danger of losing a fender in the morning.

BRS does a lot and it is very much appreciated. Vicky is right about the attitude adjustment about Queen of the Road TK. But I'm sure he will work hard on that.

Y'all have fun tonight. See ya sometime tomorrow! May the angels wrap their wings around y'all!

Just Vicky said...

WELL GREAT!!!! GRIN AND SMILE TOO!

Anonymous said...

Great Wave, Steve!!!

Just Vicky said...

I didn't see a smile and he had to multitask as he was on a cell phone. Bet Grandma called to scold him about his attitude with Queen TK!!!!

BUT THANKS STEVE!!! Now get to bed soon with that beautiful fur neck pillow!

Goodnight BRS and TK. Thanks for the wave. Hope dinner was good, TK is happy and you both sleep tight! See ya tomorrow!

Steve, don't know if you heard the noise, but at about 12:05 AM, several tractors passed by you. I couldn't count them all cause the cam froze. Then just as quickly, they circled round and left. No trailers....looked like a rodeo act. The time I gave, is your computer time.
