Chat Room?
Well, I have been searching for a possible chatroom to use. Problem is, I would want it to be private, meaning to this site only, not part of a whole giant network. I am concerend about introducing all the bad stuff out there. I want BigRigTravels to remain a solid, trusted Family Friendly website choice for folks. If you know about a chatroom that can be used without all the problems, please let me know. Everything I have come across is a major gateway to allow alot of "questionable content" in.

Yes, I have the same concerns. Do you think a chat room is really needed? I don't know much at all about them. The few I have ventured in to look at were not something I wanted to get involved in.

I'd say forget it Steve! The ONLY way to insure safe conversation is to do it like you are here with comments. However, I sure am not an expert on that type of thing.
I agree with the 3 other ladies, you don't need any chat room. This is just fine. So easy. When are we going to start on the road? Been waiting sooo long.

Getting the feeling you were in the web business before trucking, as your site is very professional and pleasing and well laid out.
I see no purpose in a chatroom either, unless it is something YOU want for after hours entertainment.
As there does not seem to be a limit to the number of comments which can be made to an entry, the same purpose can really be fulfilled using what has already been set up.

No need to have a chat room. Some people can be pretty nasty out there. You don't want that. Drive safely. Hug TK for me!

Just read these Steve and either post comments in here or address them as you have. We're fine with the way this is!!! JUST REMEMBER TO LOVE TK LOTS!!! ONLY THE BEST FOR HER!
One thing you might consider instead of a chatroom is to start a newsgroup. You could create one with yahoo groups, set it up so that everyone who joins has to be approved by you, and if someone gets out of line you remove their account. If you're still leery about the wrong kind of content creeping in, assign some people you trust as moderators--only messages approved by moderators will be posted.
Sadly, on the internet, creating a safe environment takes a lot of work.
If TK could chat with us we'd go for it, but what some people have to say in chatrooms is not very good. Keeping up your fun site is enough for us.
Yep, the chatty cathy stuff gets real boring. Too bad those folks can't hear themselves.
